You can run, but you can’t hide
Summer 2025 Edition

School’s out for summer. “How awesome!” said no work-from-home parent in June, July, or August, ever.

You’re not commuting to an office in Phoenix or Tempe anymore. Sometimes you work in athleisure or pajamas. You’ve handled minor distractions: the dog needing to go out eight times a day (how did it cope when the house was empty pre-2020?). Amazon deliveries always hit during Zoom calls, triggering barking. You manage. These are small hurdles.

The Toddler Factor
Summer 2025

You try convincing your toddler you’re not working behind the closed den or converted bedroom office door. “Mom’s not home, sweetie” or “Dad’s out for a bit.” Does it work?

Nope. They hear your voice on calls. You lower your volume. That’ll do it, right?

Wrong. They still hear you. So, you switch to chat and email. Problem solved?

Still no. They can smell you through the door. Toddlers have sharp senses.

This tanks your productivity and could stall your career.

No.

We’re throwing working parents a lifeline. A membership at The Works boosts productivity without long-term commitment. Month-to-month, like a gym membership. Give 30 days’ notice to cancel. We’re a temporary escape for life’s temporary chaos, whether you need us a few days a week, all summer long, or for several years.
