Beyond the traditional uses of Coworking Spaces

Beyond the traditional uses of Coworking Spaces

People often view a coworking space as a location with a collection of offices, open seating, dedicated desks, conference rooms, and phone booths. The benefits of leveraging coworking spaces for things other than “a place to work for a while” continue to grow as coworking spaces become more of a neighborhood resource for business. That’s right, people thrive in coworking spaces. Often overlooked are the non-traditional uses of coworking spaces.

Less-obvious uses of co-working spaces

Meetup Groupslooking for a venue to hold their meetings. Meetup groups that typically meet indoors such as programming groups, marketing groups, and recovery groups.
Book Clubs – More private than the local coffee shop or library

Wedding Rehearsals – Avoid the often expensive use of a wedding facility. Let’s face it, weddings are big business (and costly). Why spends thousands on the rehearsal? Use that money for your honeymoon.

Church Groups – Sundays are typically slow in most coworking spaces. Queue up the church groups!
Pinball Tournaments – on the weekend when the coworking spaces have easy 1st-floor access to move machines in and out for a weekend tournament
Cake Decorating Classes – if you have a good-sized kitchen and plenty of counter space, this can be an attractive option for you
Yoga Classes – our conference rooms can accommodate small Yoga classes
Meeting with your CPA – Maybe your CPA works from their home office? The two of you can meet in a small conference room in a coworking space to find out just how large your refund will be. And if you end up owing a lot of money to the government, there’s a chance that a therapist and/or financial planner may also be using the same co-working space…..so there, you’re covered.
Meeting with your Accountant or tax professional – Tax planning and preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses. Sometimes this task is better handled in person instead of a long thread of email between you and your accountant. The Ray Room is perfect for this type of meeting.
MDs, Nurse Practitioners, NMD most coworking spaces, although typically a communal type of experience can also allow for privacy. Enough of it to be HIPAA compliant.
Video Shoots – The Works can easily be an “office environment” for your next video shoot. Green screen available. We have a green screen available for video shoots.
Video Upload center – Maybe that wifi at your hotel isn’t the most secure or fast internet connection. Save some time and sanity by leveraging our Fiber Optic internet.

The Journey of Coffee

The Journey of Coffee: From Bean to Brew Coffee is very much a part of our world, and very much part of the coworking world. Fast, reliable internet, and coffee. This fact isn’t lost on us. At The Works, we do our best to keep a rotation of different coffees available for our members.  At the time of this writing, we’re offering McCafe Premium Medium Roast, Solimo Dark Roast, and Happy Belly Medium Roast Kona Blend. Yeah, that first one is McDonald’s coffee, and it’s really good (see why it’s so popular below). Personally, I don’t think Mickey D’s gets enough credit for their coffee.                               […]

Traditional office setups have taken a backseat as innovative workspace solutions have gained popularity. Among these alternatives, coworking spaces and shared workspaces have emerged as prominent options for professionals seeking flexibility, community, and collaboration. Getting Work Done Over Summer Break 2023

10 Tips to Getting Work Done Over Summer Break 2023 Many parents and caregivers have made the change from working outside of the home to working from inside the home. Covid seems to have helped usher in the work from home generation. I’ve said it before, some workers who were sent home from a traditional office to work from home during Covid are never going back to the office.  For many, the change to a virtual (or hybrid) workspace has been a breath of fresh air. Working in your sweatpants and t-shirt, no more dealing with rush hour traffic, and lots of time with the family. Working from home can be great for the most part. Summer break from school […]
