There’s an organization in Metro Phoenix’s East Valley that has been teaching small businesses how to grow and thrive for years. Back in 2016/2017, I was one of their clients. Today, they host their quarterly meetings at The Works. By the time they finish, the Higley Room’s glass walls are nearly invisible under giant Post-it notes. And when they leave, the notes go with them.
After watching dozens of these sessions, here’s what to buy, how much you need, and how to get the most out of them.
Our Pick
Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pad (25″ × 30″)
- Big enough for a whole group to read from across the room
- Sticks to walls, windows, and glass without tape, and peels off cleanly
- Roll the sheets up and take your ideas home after the meeting

Which Giant Post-it Notes Should You Buy?
Not every meeting needs the same pad. Here’s how to choose.
| Option | Size | Best For | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super Sticky Easel Pad | 25″ × 30″ | Brainstorming and planning on walls, groups of 6+ | See on Amazon |
| Tabletop Easel Pad | 20″ × 23″ | Small groups and rooms without wall space; has a built-in stand | See on Amazon |
| Grid-Line Easel Pad | 25″ × 30″ | Timelines, schedules, and charts that need straight lines | See on Amazon |
| Flip Chart Markers | — | Bold writing that doesn’t bleed through to the wall or the next sheet | See on Amazon |
Don’t skip the markers. Regular permanent markers can bleed through the paper and onto walls. Flip chart markers are made for this paper and are easier to read from the back of the room.
How Many Pads Do You Need?
- 1–2 hour meeting, small group: one tabletop pad is usually plenty.
- Half-day planning session, 8–10 people: plan on 15–20 sheets, about one full wall pad.
- Full-day workshop or quarterly planning: bring two wall pads. Running out halfway through kills momentum.
A pad you don’t finish keeps for the next meeting. A pad you run out of halfway through a session can’t be fixed.
Why Use Giant Post-it Notes Instead of a Whiteboard?
One word: retention.
The Higley Room at The Works has two whiteboards. They’re great for quick sketches, but everything on them gets erased soon after the meeting ends. With giant Post-it notes, participants take their notes with them, and that makes a difference.
Ideas you can’t ignore
Their size makes ideas impossible to miss. Big, bold writing means everyone in the room can see and react to every idea. Color-coding sheets by topic makes it easy to categorize and prioritize.
Rearrange on the fly
Unlike whiteboards or digital tools, giant Post-it notes can go anywhere: walls, windows, tables. Teams can move sheets around, group related ideas, and see patterns emerge in real time.
Everyone participates
Writing on a sheet in front of the room turns listeners into contributors. People who rarely speak up in meetings are often happy to grab a marker.
You can take it with you
At the end of the session, nothing gets erased. Roll up the sheets, bring them to your next meeting, and put them back on the wall. Walking into a room with last session’s notes already up sets the tone: progress matters.
3 Ways to Use Giant Post-it Notes in Your Next Meeting
- Dot voting. Write each idea on the sheet, give everyone 3–5 sticker dots or marker checks, and let the group vote. The top priorities become obvious in minutes.
- Idea clusters. Give each topic its own sheet. As ideas come up, add them to the right sheet. By the end, you’ll have organized themes instead of a messy list.
- The parking lot. Keep one sheet for off-topic ideas. Nothing gets lost, and the meeting stays on track.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do giant Post-it notes damage walls or paint?
They’re designed to peel off cleanly from most painted walls. On freshly painted or textured walls, test a sheet in an inconspicuous spot first.
Will they stick to glass?
Yes. The Higley Room’s glass walls are regularly covered in them, and they stay up for an entire session.
What markers don’t bleed through?
Water-based flip chart markers are the safest choice. They’re bold enough to read from across the room without soaking through to the wall or the next sheet.
Can I ship supplies to The Works before my meeting?
Yes. Ship them to The Works, 1525 S Higley Road, Suite 104, Gilbert, AZ 85296, and email us so we know to hold them for you.
